Moving to Los Angeles, United States of America

Situated in the state of California on the west coast, Los Angeles, the 2nd most populous city in the United States of America, is renowned for its wild and wonderful lifestyle created by the even wilder people who live there. LA is the entertainment capital of the world, home to many celebrities, famous artists and musicians who seem to love the sunny climate combined with the high fashioned era that compliments the city of LA so well. The music and film industries have been a crucial part in the economical success of Los Angeles City.

The technology industry has increased dramatically in recent times in Los Angeles. Any foreign expat looking to work in LA, who attains a specific set up technological skills has a good chance of finding work in the city.

Los Angeles is a world centre of not just entertainment. It combines business, culture, technology, international trade, fashion, science and much more to give itself such globally recognised titles. LA has been classed the 3rd richest city and 5th most powerful and influential city in the world.

For those looking to work in LA, believe it or not, the finance centre is most likely the best bet. Because of the enormous rise in levels of actors, singers, performers, etc in the last decade or so, people living in LA have forgotten that this intense city is more than just a Hollywood strip. There's no denying the entertainment industry in LA has skyrocketed in recent years, however people forget that Los Angeles has an insane amount of international banks and finance centres, with employment opportunnities for those fitted to that industry.

Hi, I'm from Northern Ireland, and hoping to find out all the information I can about getting sponsorship to work in Boston.
I am ideally looking for marketing and events based roles, and would hugely appreciate any help people can send me with regards to companies hiring for such roles? How to apply for sponsorship? Or really, any tips or details about the entire process. Thanks!

Here is a link for all available hospitality/hotel jobs in America http://bit.ly/HfCGbw However if you plan on going to work in the US, you will need a working visa. Have you thought about this factor?

Hey,

I'm looking for work as a Medical Secretary (or just a secretary) in America, perferably Chicago. However I'm from Ireland and don't really know how to approach possible employers about sponsorship. Does anyone know how to find out which companies are more likely to sponsor me for work visas?

Thanks. :)

Hi Regina,

When it comes to getting sponsorships from US companies, it is very much depending on the industry they are in. Your best bet is to research job vacancies and choose several companies to approach. You must explain to them why they should sponsor you, so be sure to really sell yourself to them and make them want you in particular. Sponsored employees all must prove what makes them better than someone who can fill the role in Chicago, or wherever it may be, otherwise they will hire local talent.

Also have you checked out the Secretary roles available in Chicago at the moment..... http://bit.ly/GAOml8 and http://bit.ly/GCGQbJ.

Hope this helps :)
