Dr. Vivek Baliga has contributed several studies to the literature on vascular biology, diabetes, and heart disease. Earning his medical degree in 2000, Dr. Vivek Baliga currently conducts cardiovascular research in a PhD program at the University of Leeds, one of the largest research institutions in the United Kingdom. Dr. Baliga’s medical activities over the years have included investigations into stent thrombosis, circulating progenitor cell mobilization, diabetes mellitus and heart failure, and acute coronary syndrome.

A native of India, Dr. Baliga received his primary, secondary, and higher education in his home country. He earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education in Mangalore. Dr. Vivek Baliga is a member of the Royal College of Physicians. He has received accreditation in transthoracic echocardiography from the British Society of Echocardiography.
