Tsolaire Aghamanoukian

Tsolaire Aghamanoukian has taught math at Vahan & Anoush Chamlian Armenian School in Glendale, California, since 2009, focusing on SAT exam preparation and the California State math curriculum. Mrs. Aghamanoukian employs innovative educational techniques, utilizing real-life objects such as candy bars, as well as white boards, as a way of helping students visualize and fully understand complex math problems.

A recipient of a J.W. McConnell scholarship in mathematics, Tsolaire Aghamanoukian earned her B.S. at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. She subsequently undertook a Master’s degree in math teaching at Toronto’s York University, publishing the research article "An Ongoing Investigation of the Learning Process of Year 1 University Students." During this time, Mrs. Aghamanoukian taught undergraduate students linear algebra as a teacher’s aide, also leading a course on finite mathematics that focused on business and economics.
