I finished working as Company Accountant with a Galway city-based SME.on 16.04.2010. (Covering a maternity leave)
My responsibilities included:
o Maintenance of all books of Account,( all on “The Big Red Book” System )
o Maintenance of general, payable (multi-currency), and receivable ledgers,
o Compiling and submission of VAT , PAYE , and INTRASTAT Returns,
o Preparation of monthly management accounts, ( on Excel)
o Maintenance of “Quickpay” Payroll system,
o Monthly Bank reconciliations,
o Liasing with management. re: Daily cash funding requirements.

I worked in a city-centre accountancy practice for 20 months, where the work consisted of:
o Compiling and submitting all the various Tax returns,
o Small company auditing, including the assistance/supervision of stocktakes,
o Preparation of Sole-trader and Limited Company accounts, and submission of same to Revenue.
The main accounting software used was “The Big Red Book”, and Accounts were then finalised on Excel.

o The accounting package used was “Unistrip” which was a package designed by the Ten-25 company specifically for the Timber Industry.
