Results Achieved

• Communicating across Pan- European countries and cultures with key internal stakeholders (local Senior Buyers and Board of Directors in Tokyo and Dusseldorf) to actively engage and proactively support the Pan European IT projects (i.e. supply & share key vendor data [brand and models of HW/SW, volumes, pricing, key requirements and specifications unavailable at the time])
• To enable the achievement of significant cost down and improved framework agreements in tandem with value added services (previously not achieved at a local level as opposed to simply letting suppliers be “box movers”)
• To optimize the supply chain across Europe (Portugal across to Russia including Scandinavia) with a sharper emphasis on SLAs (also rendered more stringent) and extra services previously not contemplated locally
• Local country supplier web based portals implemented with agreed pricing and configurations (previously unavailable)
• Achieved major annual rebates using the afore mentioned as levers.
• Communicating across Pan- European countries and cultures with Global vendors at Executive level.
• Developed and implemented sourcing strategies which achieved overall objectives set by Tokyo.
• Effectively managing the purchasing budget, and proactively identifying cost reduction activities and projects
• Selecting suppliers, assessing their performance by establishing quality, cost and delivery KPIs, and also negotiating contacts and developing robust partnerships
• Liaising extensively with internal contacts and external providers to plan and negotiate service level agreements
• Managing a small team of 6 (six) purchasing staff, and providing development opportunities to ensure they performed at their full potential and met time, cost and quality targets
