Founded in 1978, Squaw Valley Academy is an international, college preparatory boarding school for coed students in grades 9-12. As the oldest private school at Lake Tahoe, in California, Squaw Valley Academy is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Squaw Valley Academy graduates maintain 100% College Acceptance and graduates average 3 acceptances each. Smaller class sizes, with many classes averaging eight (8) students per teacher, coupled with our academic improvement programs such as The Academic Learning Center, SAT Prep, college counseling, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, various levels of ESL, and mandatory evening Study Halls, guarantee our students have all the tools for success.
