Having obtained a Masters in Engineering from Durham University, I then qualified as a Chartered Accountant working in London with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Following this I set up and ran a successful online retail business which raised £250k seed equity after achieving our aggressive growth plan. Upon realising that the Entrepreneurial lifestyle was a little too high risk for me I then worked in Europe's most successful mid market leveraged finance team with RBS in London for a few years which looked at over 340 businesses in 2007 alone. Following this I joined the Leveraged Finance Team in Barclays Corporate, Scotland and in 2009 joined the Scotland Board as head of the finance and operations team. This role expanded in 2011 to encompass the Global Natural Resources team with focuses in Singapore, Dubai, West Africa, Europe and the US. I am now UK&I Sales team COO working directly with the MDs of the UK&I Barclays Corporate sales teams.

Barclays Bank PLC - Head of Business Management, Scotland and Global Natural Resources
I head up the finance and operations team for Barclays Corporate Bank in Scotland. The role is a cross between FD and Director of Operations, supporting the growth of this rapidly growing business. A key focus of the role is formulating and driving strategy as Barclays Corporate becomes a major provider of banking in Scotland.
As well as sitting on the Board for Barclays Corporate in Scotland, I am also on the Board for our Global Natural Resources team. I help formulate and execute global strategies for the Natural Resources team (comprising Oil & Gas, Mining and Metals, and Commodity Traders).

Associate Director within the Leveraged Finance Team in Edinburgh. Focus is predominantly on Private Equity and Corporate Buy Outs in the central belt as well as Oil and Gas Transactions in Aberdeen.

Assistant Director in Europe Leading Mid-market leverage finance team. Led a number of deals including the LLP to Ltd of GVA Grimley, The SMBO of Coffee Nation to Milestone Capital, and P2P of Reliance Security and many more.
