Traditional games are among the many events annually featured at Scots Fest. Athletes participate in a variety of world-glass competitions, including three-day heavy armour and light armour jousting tournaments. Amateurs and professionals from the United States, Great Britain, and Canada compete in Scottish caber throwing, putting the stone, hammer throw, and strong man championships.

Dogs of the British Isles events include terrier races, herding demonstrations, high-flying performance disc contests, and agility competitions. A Grand March of Dogs, a musical presentation featuring dogs of the British Isles, is an event slated for Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Dogs of approved breeds that have been registered with the Longs Peak Scottish-Irish Festival are featured at a Saturday morning parade, and one dog is named Dog of the Festival at the end of Scots Fest.

The hour-long parade, which is the largest all-Celtic parade in North America, also showcases the best of everything the festival has to offer, including military bands, bagpipes, dancers, tartan-clad clans, and drill teams.

Music and dance is an important aspect of Scots Fest, and attendees enjoy concerts featuring bagpipes and other traditional instruments, military music, and singers. Dancers display fancy footwork in the form of reels, jigs, and hornpipes. Scots Fest features food vendors, as well as merchandise vendors who offer imported or hand-crafted Irish and Scottish products.
