As part of a 12-month fixed-term contract, I spent 6 months in the policy team during the replacement UDP process. Particular responsibilities included the Housing Potential Study, and providing responses to Development Control consultations on housing applications. I also represented the Council at external meeting including the Greater Manchester Housing SPIGlet.

Development Control June 2003 – December 2003
The other 6 months I spent in Development Control where I had a varied caseload, including processing a wide range of planning applications, such as house holder applications, change of use and advert consents, representing the Council through the written representation procedure on a number of planning appeals, negotiating with developers and responding to queries and offering general planning advice on a day-to-day basis.
