I am currently the EHS Specialist for Bord Gais Energy. I am responsibile for all EHS matters in the Company HQ, including the Home Services/Retail and Facilities Departments. I am also responsible for managing all Contractors both in the office environment and externally i.e. contractors responsible for the installation of Gas Boiler systems in homes throughout the country.
My role typically involves formulating and developing health and safety policies, not just for existing activities but also new processes, promoting a positive health and safety culture and ensuring the effective implementation of health and safety policies and procedures. Establish short and long term goals, deciding priorities and establishing systems and performance standards.
Day-to-day implementation and monitoring of policy and plans including accident and incident investigation, reporting and analysis.
Reviewing of performance and audit of the management system.

Lagan Construction - SHE ROI Manager

I was the EHS Manager for a number of Civil Construction projects in the ROI and UK. I also played an auditing role in NI, Scotland and the UK and acted as PSDP/CDM and PSCS coordinator.

This involves implementing SHE management systems, tailored to specific projects;
Setting up of emergency response arrangements and liaison with local emergency resources;
The promotion of high standards of health and safety performance in accordance with legislative requirements;
Contribute to the supervision and mentoring of other SHE staff within the Lagan Construction Group;
Preparing budgets and monitoring project time, costs and resources; and
Input into Tender and project proposal process
Provide familiarisation workshops and onsite training for both clients and contractors on all aspects of applicable regulations and SHE culture
