; Park Farm Youth Project, St Helens - voluntary youth support worker

I help empower and informally educate 13 to 19 year olds via various activities including beauty therapy, sport and fund raising events. This leads to an annual residential activity based experience in the Lake District.
The project provides a safe, controlled environment that complies with Every Child Matters with a view to helping young people build effective relationships, feel involved and “be themselves” away from the pressures of their every day life.

Rebecca Ashcroft's Education and Qualifications

Diploma - Youth Work

St. Helens College

I have achieved my level 3 diploma in youth work studies and have been assigned a place on the degree course, due to start in September 2012. As part of my voluntary work at Park Farm Youth Project, one achievement I earned included helping plan the strategy that resulted in a young polish boy integrate with, and be accepted by, the rest of the group. He also accepted them. I find my work very rewarding.
