I retrieved the finance function from imminent collapse,revamped systems and procedures and updated long outdated accounts to obtain a clean audit for a busy e-commerce firm. I managed key supplier relationships out of distress and placed them on a firm basis. I overhauled operational and customer service activities developing kpis and significantly improving turnaround and resolution times.

I reported to the Board of Directors in a significant player in the sector, developing and presenting business plans for company wide projects. A key project revolutionised the culture of the firm to one of shared goals and pooled information, surmounting significant organisational resistance. I retrieved the information systems from imminent collapse with minimal disruption to business continuity and undertook the introduction of Compliance to Group PLC and legislative requirements.

I introduced dynamic and innovative financial and managerial reporting for client and job management and forecasting of WIP.

Finance & IT Manager

I reported to the CEO and DCEO in a large organisation with over 1,000 staff and 200 geographically dispersed organisations. I worked with senior management colleagues across the organisation, where I was involved in key organisational decision making and change management. I turned around and developed the shared finance and payroll team of 15, into an efficient team that delivered quality service and key management information, to a rapidly expanding organisation.

Financial Controller

In a multi-national, multi-currency environment, my role was to take financial control, where none previously existed and successfully placed the organisation on a secure financial basis. I selected, configured and modified a centralised accounting and reporting system, including the introduction of internal controls in a cash based organisation. I trained field staff in Accounting and Auditing bringing significant savings to the organisation. I produced final accounts to audit and presented bi-annual reports to the Board. Additionally I successfully managed the Treasury function at a time of considerable flux.

Audit Senior

I qualified as a chartered accountant with one of the biggest accountancy practices. This work gave me a firm commitment to the importance of quality standards and experience with clients across a broad range of sectors. Additionally I was a course instructor for a 4 week induction training programme for new graduates.
