Lidl Ireland - District Manager
An intensive 6 months. I learnt all aspects of the business; staffing, orders, training of staff, customer queries and any problems that may have arisen.
The main focus of Lidl is cost effectiveness, from having the optimal number of staff to having the right amount of fruit and veg, thus minimising waste.
It was a very beneficial experience as it tested me on several levels and I learnt alot about the consumer mindset but also alot about myself and what it takes to be successful.
Irish Dairy Board - Kerrygold - Marketing Executive
I worked in the New York/New Jersey region as part of the national team.
My role was to manage the accounts in my region. I primarily dealt with the buyers for supermarket chains, such as Shop Rite, A&P and Whole Foods.
Also I dealt with brokers, together we came up with the marketing plan and budget for each chain of stores. As in when we will advertise in their in-store magazine, offer the chain a discount for large orders and when best to perform in-store demonstrations of the cheeses and butters.
In my year there I sold over 1 million lbs of product in my region, surpassing my target.
