St. Vincent's Healthcare Group - Group Deputy Director of ICT

I managed 41 people across all areas of ICT (Operations, Telecommunications, Project Management and Support) with responsibility for providing a 24x7 service to over 4,500 staff. I was responsible for developing and delivering an ICT strategy, ensuring the ICT Department was aligned with the Group’s business strategy, defining and creating ICT policies and ensuring the department met best practice standards.

St. Vincent’s Healthcare Group (including St. Vincent’s University Hospital, St Vincent’s Private Hospital, St. Michaels Hospital and Education & Research Centre) is one of Ireland’s largest teaching hospitals; my role included ensuring ICT provided the best possible solutions to staff in a rapidly changing medical environment.

I had responsibility for multi-million euro budget, ensuring value for money and financial efficiencies. My role involved working with senior business stakeholders to identify business requirements, ensuring that we meet regulatory requirements and presenting final solutions for senior executives. Change control, system validation and system availability are key criteria. I had responsibility for security architecture design, enterprise architecture design, developing and validating all disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Completed multiple business impact and risk analysis, ensuring the business could continue mission critical activities in the event of an incident which disrupted normal operations.

I presented customised security and infrastructure based solutions to senior business and ICT staff, showing how they could leverage the ICT infrastructure to make their business more adaptable, efficient and profitable.
