Lero - Web Developer/UX Designer

I am currently working on an Educational Outreach project in association with Lero and the Irish Computer Society for Transition Year Students.

I designed and developed the new Irish Scratch website which was launched on the 20/10/2010. This site provides teaching materials for use in the class room in schools throughout Ireland and across the world. - http://www.scratch.ie

RR Donnelley Limerick - Quality Auditor

In 2006 I was promoted to position of Quality Auditor in RR Donnelley (formerly Banta Global Turnkey). In this role I was responsible for:

• Liaising with suppliers on responses and corrective actions required.
• Liaising with customers on any problem detected and providing analysis of specific issues.
• On line process patrol.
• Implementing quarantines/purges.
• Adhering to and recommending improvements to the quality systems.
• Representing the Quality Department at various forums and meetings.
• Assisting any employee/customer/supplier to resolve the quality query or issue.
• Accurately maintaining & filing of paperwork and records.
• Carrying out any functional tests and recording findings.
• Operating and implementing JDEdwards as the main ERP system within the company.

During my time in the department I received 2 Spot Awards, which are, a mechanisms used to recognise special effort or achievement by an employee. I also traveled to Poland in November 2007 to provide support for the start up of the new facility in Lodz.

Internal quality audits play a vital role in maintaining an effective documented quality system, suitable to the needs and policies of the organization.

• Yellow belt in Lean Six Sigma training course:

Six Sigma is a business management strategy originally developed by Motorola, USA in 1981. Six Sigma seeks to identify and remove the causes of defects and errors in manufacturing and business processes. To achieve Six Sigma, a process must not produce more than 3.4 defects per million opportunities.
