Summary
I am a chartered planning and development surveyor and a lecturer in property valuations and property management at Dublin Institute of Technology. I am a contributor to the Irish Times, Sunday Tribune and various other publications, mostly on the areas of housing, planning and development and regional economics. I also provide analysis on Ireland's property crisis nationally for RTE, and internationally for the BBC (UK) and CBC (Canada).


Faculty of the Built Environment, Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT)
• Module development and delivery in Property Valuations, Academic Writing and Research Methods.
• Supervision and assessment of theses at levels 9 and 10 (masters and doctorate).
• Successful supervision of three PhDs to date.
• Writing of newspaper and journal articles.
• Current research concerns nationwide survey on ‘planning for ageing’ for the Ageing Well Network of Ireland

Sept 2006 – August 2008: Head of Research, Faculty of the Built Environment, DIT (contract position)

Languages: English (native); French (intermediate).
Other: I am very interested in writing, literature, and both print and broadcast media, having produced and presented a weekly live radio book review programme. I am also interested in learning languages and take part-time French courses in Dublin and France. I am very keen to learn another European language. I am an approved Assessor for the Society of Chartered Surveyors. I am also a Peace Commissioner, appointed by the Minister for Justice of Ireland.
