I started my manufacturing career after university managing a wooden toy manufacturer. I continued to gain manufacturing management experience in a number of different roles and added industrial and materials management designations after 8 years of night school. I implemented two IBM 3600 manufacturing computer systems and gained my MRPII certification from IBM.

As an Assistant Materials Manager, I had a staff of 4 people responsible for Purchasing, Inventory Management, Production Scheduling, Production Control and International Logistics. I managed supplier relations, budgeting, P & L and quality training.

Additional experience with several racing series, led to being recruited from Canada by a prototype and design operation to be their motorsports manager. With McKenna Industries and Chrysler I enhanced my leadership skills while gaining valuable materials, operations, production and vehicle development experience. I continued my education with six sigma certification and learned QMF advanced query skills for data and material analysis within my Chrysler positions.

Chrysler LLC - Jeep/Truck Vehicle Development

Managed Vehicle Development program timelines. These timelines managed critical path activities and helped identify critical part development issues.
My group developed and wrote procedures for computer system testing programs for new SAP and older PDB computer system. These programs and procedures were designed to test the systems ‘First Time Capability’ of bill of material generation. We instituted in-plant prototype inventory management control systems. We generated our final Bills of Material after months of rigorous system testing. We maintained all changes that were made to test vehicles from initial builds through final vehicle scrapping

DaimlerChrysler - SCP Powertrain Program Management

Managed prototype 4 cylinder engine development builds in American and Mexican assembly plants. Responsible for prototype material purchasing, logistics, inventory management, bills of material, prototype build issue recognition programs, lean manufacturing prototype implementation, 5S and six sigma quality programs.

McKenna Industries - Program Management

Company supplied prototype tooling, fixtures, carbon fiber development and complete body builds to the Ford Motor Company and the Chrysler Corporation.
Managed Chrysler Corp last major early development body build program. My team assembled 120 vehicles that were used for early chassis and powertrain development. I managed all aspects of these builds.
At the completion of that phase of the development I was tasked with opening in 3 months Chryslers first off site prototype materials staging warehouse. My team of 8 set up a complete warehouse operation, developed an Access bases inventory and bill of material software system, build damage free shipping containers and were fully trained and OSHA certified in warehouse operations, domestic and international logistics, inventory management and prototype change training requirements.

Twining Auto Parts - Owner, Sales Manager

• Owned and operated automotive, commercial and marine after-market parts distribution company
• Started unique just-in time parts delivery service, substantially lowering inventory requirements of customers
• Implemented programs to solve critical business issues relating to electrical components in the automotive, commercial and marine environments
• First to offer extended warranties on key electrical components which are now commonplace in the industry
