An anesthesiologist and pain-management specialist with a rich history of accomplishment as a professor, researcher, and practitioner, John Gerancher currently splits his efforts between various professional and personal activities in his North Carolina hometown. With more than two decades of relevant medical experience, John Gerancher set the stage for his career while a student at Haverford College and then at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
After earning his medical degree in 1990, Gerancher began a lengthy period of clinical training, completing his general internship at Oregon Health & Science University and his residency in anesthesiology at Wake Forest School of Medicine. Following a one-year fellowship in regional anesthesia at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, John Gerancher returned to North Carolina where he joined Forsyth Anesthesia Associates and became an Assistant Professor of anesthesiology at Wake Forest.
