About this job

Service Manager (Logistics).£28,500 plus excellent benefits. Main purpose of job: To manage the day to day running of the distribution branch, making sure that it is cost effective and efficient while meeting all customer needs and obligations; To continually contribute to the improvement of branch security and profitability. Specific Tasks include: Customer Focus - Liaise with customers and other Company managers and staff concerning day-to-day operational activities; Performance - Maintain all aspects of administration to a high standard, ensure company IT systems are up to date and checked as and when required, make sure records are maintained for audit purposes; Expertise - Ensure that the relevant legislation and company procedures and standards (health & safety, security ISO 9001:2000, Finance, Personnel, Uniform and Transport) are adhered to, be aware of and work within authority limits, where necessary makes regular checks on Branch, Vehicles to maintain standards, initiates corrective action where necessary, contributes to the completion of branch budget and targeted KPIâ™s, ,monitors expenditure against budget, recommends improvement; Best People - To oversee the day to day running of the branch operations, making sure rosters are adaptable for the departments at all times controlling holidays and sickness, authorise staff hours, conduct sickness and absence interviews, carry out welfare visits as instructed, ensure safe working practices, deals with disciplinary matters, carry out regular training development reviews; Integrity - To maintain the security and integrity of the branch in accordance with procedures, ensuring all security is compliant; Collaboration and Teamwork - Set and agree clear objectives with immediate reports, regularly monitoring their performance and taking corrective action for shortfalls, establish the number of staff required in each department, and manage the recruitment of operational staff within Company guidelines, communicate with the workforce to give and receive information by Branch meetings and/or staff briefings, conduct interviews for recruitment, disciplinary, counselling, welfare and performance reviews.

Key Attributes Required:-
Well developed interpersonal, organisational and communication skill.
Some working knowledge of budgetary controls.
Background in logistics / supply-chain Distribution Branch Management
Strong Man Management skills are essential
Experience of managing medium-large teams i.e. 50+ essential
