Drug and Alcohol Worker

A Service within the Newcastle area requires an outgoing Substance Misuse Worker to join their team. Experience in substance and alcohol misuse treatment is fundamental. The role will involve group/key work within a team that uses structured intervention plans with its service users including prescribing substitute medication (methadone, subutex).

A successful applicant will have the opportunity to assess, plan, implement and evaluate structured treatment programs for a diverse caseload of clients in accordance with agreed quality practices and procedures within the service. A keen and outgoing candidate with confident knowledge/experience in triage, titration, care plans and GP liaison is would be of benefit. There may be opportunity for contract extension which exceeds the initial duration.
