DC Operations Support Manager

Overview:



Reporting to the DC Controller the role involves providing support to the operations team within the EMEIA region. This is a key role in a fast moving dynamic organization requiring adaptability and attention to detail.

The role requires an extensive knowledge of Warehousing and Logistics specifically dealing with areas associated to continuous improvement programs and initiatives (CI).

The successful candidate will be goal driven, able to multitask, be articulate, analytical and have excellent interpersonal communication skills.



Responsibilities:



- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the DC operations - constantly seeking opportunities to improve performance, scale, cost and capability



- Identify and drive best practice improvement - supporting the teams in implementing changes where agreed



- Provide operational support by assuming RSM responsibilities on site (s) where resource gaps exist



- Lead and support DC Projects, NPI events and Strategic initiatives



- Manage all stages of potentially complex DC projects within a highly pressurized and time sensitive environment



- Lead & motivate cross-functional teams - ensuring objectives are delivered on time, to budget and to scope



- Contribute to DC strategic thinking and drive short term tactical capability planning



- Own the implementation of any new packaging process changes -such as new gifting materials





Skills & Experience:



Education



- Degree level or equivalent



- Higher level degree would be an advantage



- Qualified in Professional Project Management or other industry recognized Project Management Qualification CAPM, PMP



- CPIM or IIPMM



- Formal training in Logistics systems desired: network modeling, warehouse flow modeling, transport planning



- Competent in the use of spreadsheets and presentation tools







Experience:



- Minimum of 5 years experience in the FMCG Logistics environment, ideally specializing in: project Management, planning and or logistics operations



- Proven experience of managing cross functional teams without direct responsibility



- Demonstrated experience in influencing change or decision making at Senior Management level



- Excellent working knowledge of Project Management principals



- Working knowledge of ISO, Six Sigma and Lean Management techniques preferred



- Extensive logistics experience



- Capability to deal with complexity and ambiguity



- Good leadership skills



- Excellent communication and influencing skills
