Location: Dublin, Ireland
Overview:
Paddy Power is a leading betting and gaming business with multi channel complexity (online, 300+ shops in the UK and Ireland; growing telephone and mobile channels) and with operations which have been developed through a variety of strategies in Ireland & the UK, Australia and France (organic, acquisition and partnership respectively).
The Corporate Development Manager will work alongside business channel managers, in a small team with responsibility for delivery of the full life cycle of acquisitions, partnerships and other commercial transactions. This is an exciting role for a person with strong commercial acumen and corporate transaction history.
The role will involve:
building a comprehensive knowledge of the betting and gaming industry, competitors and markets
identification of opportunities through structured analysis, networking and assistance from business managers within Paddy Power
the appraisal of specific proposals including, as appropriate, full due diligence
negotiation of deal terms with third parties
overseeing the completion of legal documentation
The role will suit:
a structured thinker who through thorough analysis and clear communication, informs the organization and builds consensus
someone with a high degree of fluency in financial statements, company valuation, financial modelling and commercial legal agreements
someone with strong commercial and business model acumen (previous exposure to both successful and unsuccessful eCommerce businesses would be a distinct advantage)
a team player who strives to maximize their value to their colleagues and displays appropriate maturity in doing so
an individual who is comfortable with dealing with external parties whether they be deal counterparts, advisors (legal, tax, accounting), customers or suppliers
a self starter who embraces travel and networking in order to discover and develop opportunities
Candidate Profile:
Experience & Competencies:
Minimum of 5 years experience in venture capital, private equity, corporate finance and/or strategy consulting
Experience in negotiating and closing corporate acquisitions and/or strategic partnerships
Experience in valuing companies (particularly eCommerce businesses) in the context of broad investment criteria
Strong financial and strategic analytical skills
Personal:
Good attention to detail

Sound commercial judgement and instincts
Strong communication and presentation skills (written and spoken)
Motivated & high energy
Articulate, persuasive and authoritative
Results driven
Desire to live and work in Dublin
Willingness to undertake extensive travel
Qualifications:
Educated to Bachelors/Masters degree level in a quantitative or business related discipline
CFA or MBA
High academic achievement
