Description:

Reporting to the FINANCE Manager, Advanced Operations, Worldwide. The individual will have a broad and dynamic role assisting in the growth of the company via business development opportunities as will also be responsible for the coordination of the financial performance of Advanced Operations in the US, Europe & Pacific regions

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Analyse and constructively challenge business plans and pro-forma financial models to identify key business assumptions and value drivers.

Partner with Product Lifecycle Logistics to develop and execute methodologies to improve product obsolescence from the field.

Develop metrics for monitoring the objectives and specific achievements related to each Advanced Operations initiative.

Fulfil all required report-out responsibilities (i.e. Advanced Operations, R&D and Marketing senior management and Global Ops Leadership).

Monitor performance and provide business intelligence & analysis to all levels of management to enable the business to meet its commitment and respond to targets.

Raise attention to mitigate business and financial risks & exploit potential opportunities.

Prepare I.D.A. R&D grant applications, audit readiness schedules and drawdown's submissions.

Prepare audit ready R&D tax credit submissions

Co-ordinate international Inland Revenue Service (IRS) audits

Influence an report actual financial performance across Advanced Operations group in US, Europe and Pacific.

Ownership of monthly projection process for all R&D departmental spend, Custom Implants absorption and manufacturing variances.

Build preliminary Product Costings for new technologies and new product innovation investments.

Prepare capital proposals varying from R&D pilot cell, new platform technologies and new products to operational business units.

In consultation with Business Development Manager, make recommendations and devise financial policy for establishing, directing and maintaining the organisation's financial and operational procedures to ensure asset protection and profit maximisation.

Develop and prepare new technology, new products, base spend, resources and capital investment budgets for Advanced Operations team worldwide.

Be responsible for delivering functional excellence to the business in Advanced Operations finance area.

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements across all international reporting regions.

Influence and educate Advanced Operations team in delivery of financial commitments.

Development of key performance indicators in support of Advanced Operations strategies and financial commitments.

Coach, mentor and develop AO team members (typically project managers) when delivering business planned commitments.



QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE SKILLS

A recognised professional accounting qualification and preferably a broad business qualification.

5 Years + post qualification experience working in a multi-national.

A thorough understanding of accounting and financial principals, budgeting, reporting, financial analysis and forecasting.

Be able to consume and synthesize large amounts of information and present relevant points concisely.

Have demonstrated the ability to both think strategically as well as build and execute action plans.

Working with all disciplines at every level in promoting the development of services, business plans, budget management and cost control.

Demonstrated record of driving change and improvement.

Ability to manage multiple projects, adjust priorities as needed, and meet deadlines.

Successful development and delivery of new initiatives.

Ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships at all levels both within the organisation and with third parties.

Self Directed and ability to influence across the organisation at multiple levels.

Excellent financial ERP system knowledge, preferably Oracle.

Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Must be comfortable in a matrix-management environment.

A 'can-do' attitude to all business challenges.

Target driven with proven ability to motivate.

Excellent business analytical and negotiation skills.

Superior communication skills both quantitative and qualitative.

Some US travel required.
