Masonville, New York resident Heather Schwartz is an active member in the Upstate New York history community. She graduated from Towson University with a B.S. in Mass Communications and History and from Binghamton University with an M.A. and a Ph.D. in History. Her focus has always been American history, with a particular emphasis on institutional and imperial history and colonial America. Heather Schwartz taught as an instructor at Broome Community College and as a visiting assistant professor at Binghamton University, and currently teaches both in the classroom and online at SUNY Delhi in the role of Visiting Assistant Professor.

Dr. Schwartz has spoken at a number of workshops and forums, including the McGill-Queen’s Graduate Conference in History, the Organization of American Historians annual meeting, and the Upstate American History Workshop. She has been awarded several fellowships, including the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History Fellowship, as well as research and travel grants.
