Ceva Logistics - Warehouse Manager
I commenced with TNT in 1995 as an Operations Controller on night duties, at the Land Rover Contract. On 1st February 1998 I was promoted to Operations Manager due to my experienced gained within the automotive sector and successful secondment in managing an additional distribution centre due to a new contract win.
On the 31st January 2002 I was offered secondment to the Volkswagen Warehousing Contract to assist in an implementation being the largest that TNT Logistics had ever undertaken. The implementation involved the migration of 5 warehouses in Milton Keynes to 1 warehouse situated in Tamworth. I was asked to join this team due to my previous experience and knowledge gained from a successful implementation of another automotive contract.
After working on the contract for only 3 months, I was then offered a permanent position as Operations Manager.
In September 2007 I was offered the position of Warehouse Manager on the iON Contact for CEVA Logistics which was a New Business win for the organisation. I was selected for the position due to my extensive experience on Implementation, Warehouse Management Systems and man management skills.
My roles and responsibilities in my last role is detailed below -
•Responsible for the successful Implementation of the Warehouse operation which included User Acceptance Testing of the Warehouse Management System, Health and Safety sign off and recruitment of all employees. Rewarded with the Zero Defect Start-up accreditation.
•Management of 6 directs and 47 warehouse operatives over a two shift operation.
•Management of the entire warehouse Operation – circa 88,000 sq ft facility.
•Compiling and controlling operational budgets – £3.9m per year revenue.
•Ensuring all Health and Safety codes of practice of adhered to. Achieved a score of 96.6% in the CEVA Logistics Health and Safety Audit of 2008 and 99.1% in 2009.
•Proactive in Continuous Improvement. Kaizen/Lean. Achieved a score of 67% in the Global Lean Audit giving this contract the Number 1 position Globally for CEVA Lean Warehousing.
•Achieved a score of 91.59% in the CEVA logistics Quality Audit.
•Extensive experience of Red Prairie Warehouse Management System and Pick by Light operating system.
•Responsible for Stock, inventory and Version Control management.
•Excellent client relationship and communication ensuring all contractual KPI’s and SLA’s are met.
•Motivating and providing continuous professional development for Supervisors and team members.
•Responsible for site security and ensuring Fire Safety regulations are adhered too.
•People management including recruitment and disciplinary action
•Effective team briefings, staff training and development, appraisals and ensuring that the company requirements regarding Investors in People are monitored and implemented.
•Promoting a Total Quality Management culture within the organisation, ensuring the quality of the service provided to our customer is continually monitored and improved.
