Kerry Film Festival - Festival/Education Co-ordinator

As a co-ordinator for the Kerry film festival I developed an educational programme as an out-reach/pilot programme to help connect the local community with the festival and its range of films. Promoting, organizing and managing children's workshops in film appreciation. I documented some of the workshops after they took place in over 40% of all primary schools in Kerry, where a total of over 3,000 pupils participated. The workshops which I delivered around the county comprised of several creative activities and the viewing of selected short films.

I also assisted with general office duties, up-dated social networking sites and acted a PR person for the festival. Researching, communicating and assisting in the organization of events were my main responsiblities.

Higher Diploma - Fine Art, Arts

Crawford College Cork

After first year in fine art in Crawford college of art I started to study arts developement and participation on a part-time basis while doing a business management course at the Tralee IT (also on a part-time basis). Through which I developed skills in using art as a community/group based tool for learning, inclusion and social progress. I currently am studying the prinicples of art therapy on a part-time basis at the college with a view to possibly undertake the masters course in art therapy. I feel art is useful today as a form of communication through which people can work together in exploring culture, society and their environment.
