Responsibilities:
Conceptualise, initiate and project manage the delivery of multiple IT projects/processes across the business divisions.
Team lead and mentor junior developers, and technical staff.
Plan for (and consequently develop) the strategic evolution of the C9 Suite, this includes a particular reference on robustness, scalability and standardisation of technologies.
Maintain and develop core Java backend and JavaScript (jQuery, jQuery UI) based front-end systems.
Key Achievements:
Updated and unified the existing infrastructure (Apache httpd, Apache Tomcat, Java 1.6), introduced SLA based monitoring, alerting, project management and bug-tracking framework, standardised producthave also ion release procedure and updated version control methodology.
Mapped the technical product development of the C9 suite identifying key resources, and key technologies to be introduced. This included early adoption of virtual environments and infrastructure-as-a-service, and the design of a custom presentation layer.
Led business partner relationship and global entrepreneur accreditation with IBM.

When I have free time I try and spend as much of it as I can with my family.
Technical
I routinely try and create micro-projects to keep myself abreast or new technologies and new thinking. Presently I am looking at the Play web framework and how this streamlines the webapp development process.
