The University of Huddersfield - Work placement - video podcast editor

I was a key member of 'The Hobbes Project', editing a series of video podcasts on Political Philosophy. For six weeks I worked alongside a technician and my politics lecturer to produce an entire series of podcasts: in the filming of these entertaining and informative monologues I carried out all of the sound and video editing duties.

The University of Huddersfield's Schools & Colleges Liaison Service - Student Ambassador

Jobs (2-8 hours per day) involved registering visitors for University events, manning a help-desk/directing visitors, and assisting with careers-based activities organised for visiting primary school pupils. While the workload was not hugely constant (24hrs per month) or uniformly scheduled, the job's tasks were hugely rewarding, and relevant to my developing of a more expansive 'social' skill set.

Over the course of three months, the hours and duties of this job were extremely varied. I would either find myself: either assisting with workshops designed to give school children/future HE students an idea of career choices in university level education; or manning a reception desk alongside other students at the university's information evenings.
