Charles Richardson is an inventor, entrepreneur, and most recently the General Manager and Partner of A Dog’s Day Out, LLC, founded in 2004. Charles Richardson graduated from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, in 1992 with a degree in Liberal Studies. A Dog's Day Out has two locations: one in Vienna and another in Alexandria, with a third location on slate to open in Northern Virginia in approximately 12 months. A Dog’s Day Out provides vast open play spaces separated by picket fencing that offers a positive environment for dogs to run, play, and socialize to their heart’s content, along with human love and supervision. A Dog’s Day Out offers separate play areas for small, medium, and large dogs in each of its facilities. Numerous windows and/or sky lights help to naturally illuminate each facility at A Dog’s Day Out. High-quality HVAC systems provide superior air circulation geared towards the season. A Dog’s Day Out twice received accolades from Washingtonian magazine as a Top Daycare in the DC Metro area. All potential new clients must first bring their dog into ADDO for a one-time Introduction Evaluation. This pass or fail evaluation helps A Dog’s Day Out determine if each new dog is happy and comfortable in their new environment. The evaluation takes about 20 minutes and the cost is $15 per dog. These evaluations help A Dog’s Day Out weed out dogs which are not friendly or comfortable around dogs their size. The evaluation process helps create a happy, healthy, and playful pack of dogs, promoting safety and well-being of all occupants at A Dog’s Day Out. Before establishing A Dog's Day Out, Charles Richardson invented “Flasher” – Safety At Night for People & Pets. Flasher weighs less than two ounces, is visible up to one mile away in total darkness, and is water resistant. The product dramatically increases the visibility of pets and their owners in low light conditions, using LED lighting. The lightweight, durable safeguard offers 360-degree visibility and has up to 40,000 hours of use per LED. Charles Richardson appeared on QVC to demonstrate the Flasher with his own dogs. He now focuses his energy on A Dog's Day Out.
