Sales Manager
I currently work as a Sales Manager for a small Irish family run business. My main function is to attract new clients and retain current business. I have been extremely successful in attracting new business during 2009/2010 a fact which I am very proud of given the challenging economic circumstances. I successfully opened up the retail market in the UK by securing a contract with a large UK retailer who will now stock a product for the company I work for in 226 stores in the UK. I also initiated and organised an agency in Germany to facilitate the expansion of the business and I successfully secured two large contracts from the UK. I have an excellent command of language both oral and written, am not afraid to approach key decision makers, and I have an excellent telephone manner. I am versatile, persuasive and good humoured and I never take rejections personally. I have a first class degree in English Literature and have worked previously as the Editorial Assistant for a renowned magazine on a contract basis. My role included compiling and writing all the advertorial copy and often required face-to-face meetings with clients to upsell advertising space. I have a versatile portfolio of skills all of which I employ and use to the benefit of the company I work for.
