Planning Aid England - Community Planner

Responsible for delivering a Community Planning program in the north of England with support from a volunteer base of planning professionals and planning students (from Newcastle and Northumbria University) to offer advice, support and guidance to community groups and individuals on planning and development issues in their neighbourhoods. Responsible for the design and delivery of awareness, learning and training sessions for young people and the adult community on Planning, Policy, Regeneration and Change in our communities.

2003 - 2005

Nexus and The Countryside Agency - Rural Transport Officer

Responsible for the Rural Transport program in Tyne and Wear to help isolated communities in Tyne and Wear gain better access to health, leisure, education, employment services through the promotion and establishment of community transport projects.Involved drafting and submitting bids to a national fund for community transport projects and managing an annual budget and subsidiary projects within Tyne and Wear and liaising with local authorities, the private sector and local communities to promote the value of community transport schemes in Tyne and Wear.

2001 - 2003

South Tyneside Council - Transport Planning Policy Officer

Working as a graduate Transport Planning Policy Officer on the development of South Tyneside’s Local Transport Plan. Responsible for small projects linked to transport, environment and regeneration and liaising with key stakeholders in the council and other related bodies on the delivery of sustainable transport strategies for the borough.
