I am an electronics engineer who, having gained experience in biomedical engineering and medical instrumentation, is looking for a new exciting opportunity for further professional and personal development to continuously improve his technical skills. I hold a PhD degree in Electronic Engineering from The University of Dublin, Trinity College (TCD) and a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Applied Sciences in Lyon, known as INSA. I also earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Statistics at TCD.

ETIC INSA Technologies - Project Manager

I led a team of seven trainee engineers on a consultancy project for ElcoBrandt, a leading European household appliances manufacturer. The team successfully designed, built and implemented sensor-based electronic systems for the monitoring of objects in the vicinity of high-specification induction and ceramic hobs. The solutions presented to the client helped prevent burn injuries and other accidents involving young children.

AMEC SPIE SUD EST - Trainee Engineer

I assisted the Director on a multi-million engineering contract with the European Organisation of Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland. I completed technical studies of electrical installations for the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). This experience allowed me to be exposed to some of the most exciting technologies used on the world’s largest science experiment, particularly when working on the assembly and preparation of superconducting dipoles.

PhD/Doctorate - Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Electronic Engineering

Trinity College, Dublin

Thesis title: “Amplifier Front-End Design in Dry-Electrode Electrocardiography”. I have developed novel methods for ECG measurement using pasteless electrodes that caters for a wide range of users such as elderly, the long-term ill, cardiac rehabilitation patients, paediatrics and neonates. The electronic systems designed and constructed operate at low-voltage and dissipate less than 50 microwatts of power, for a components cost fewer than €10.
