Developed EPA funded Climate Information Platform for Ireland (ClimateIreland). Performed statistical analysis of climate model output in R. Developed web front-end for discovering and visualising climate data using Clojure, SVG, Javascript.

Principal Investigator for the Artificial Intelligence and Data Mining component of NG-RMP – a system combining multiple data sources and advanced analysis to assist the Irish navy’s operations at sea. Prototyped expert system in Java.

Prototyped a systems modelling tool for engaging local stakeholders in climate change adaptation. This involved creating an interactive web-based graph editing and visualisation tool using GraphViz and D3.js, and using fuzzy set theory to analyse the resulting graph and produce a model of cause and effect.

Systems architect for the FP7 funded NETMAR project. Responsible for designing, documenting and disseminating overall architecture for multinational, multidisciplinary environmental information system. Presented the system architecture at two major conferences – ECOOP 2011 (European Conference on Object Oriented Programming) and EGU 2012 (European Geosciences Union).
